![]() Welcome to Butterfield Elementary School, the newest K-5 school in the Maricopa Unified School District. We’re the home of the Bobcats and we wear our school colors of forest green, tan, and gold with pride. We may be a new school, but there’s nothing new about the best practices we use to teach your children with thoroughness and enthusiasm. You can count on that! As the district name indicates, we’re located in Maricopa, AZ, a hot spot of residential development and a great place for many to make their homes. We’re forty miles south of Phoenix and twenty-three miles north of Casa Grande. The sun shines on us twelve months out of the year, which is perfect for field trips and hands-on science activities that make the most of our natural desert surroundings. Please spend some time in our Web site. You’ll find useful information and other items of interest in our calendar, news, and FAQ pages. As always, feel free to contact us at any time or come for a visit. This is a great year for us all to work together. ![]() Dear Parents and Students, It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Butterfield Elementary School, home of the “Butterfield Bobcats!” Being one of the three new schools in the Maricopa Unified School District, we look forward to new beginnings with the community, parents, and students. Our goal is to develop a learning community that fosters academic standards as well as physical, cultural, and emotional development for each child to become a productive citizen. As we open the doors at Butterfield Elementary School this year, we would like you to know that the staff and I are dedicated to educating students in a positive environment. We believe that all children deserve continuous respect, courtesy, and understanding. With that said, we are committed to working closely with you on a day-to-day basis. Your input and involvement with this new beginning is very important to us, as we provide a solid foundation for students’ future success. To provide open communication, we will send bi-weekly newsletters home with your children to keep you updated and posted on important details. You can also check our Web site daily for any news. The teachers will also send home valuable information with your student about their classrooms. Feel free to email me at kdrum@musd20.org if you have a question that I can help you with, or call the school to set up a meeting. We have many activities starting the year, so don’t miss out on any of them. We look forward to a successful year at Butterfield Elementary! Respectfully,
Kathy Drum |
