  The entire Bobcat staff wishes to welcome you to our beautiful campus. We are all very proud to serve the students at Butterfield on this beautiful campus. Butterfield Elementary has grown considerably since those first few weeks of school, and we continue to place our students as our number one priority. As we enter the end of this school year, we would like to say a special thank you to the many parents, staff members, and students who make Butterfield a better place to be each day. Recently, we added a new “Paws of Fame Wall” in the Multipurpose Room. A student from each classroom is selected by the teacher for consistently using one or more of the Character Counts Pillars of Character (Responsibility, Respect, Trustworthiness, Caring, Fairness, and Citizenship). They paint their “Bobcat Paw” on the wall and their name is written in recognition as their parents and peers watch. As the district name indicates, we’re located in Maricopa, AZ, a hot spot of residential development and a great place for many to make their homes. We’re forty miles south of Phoenix and twenty-three miles north of Casa Grande. The sun shines on us twelve months out of the year, which is perfect for field trips and hands-on science activities that make the most of our natural desert surroundings. Dear Bobcat Community, Unfortunately, I write this memo to let you know that I am moving back to Kansas because of my husband's job.
